How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost in the UK in 2026?

By MyWebDeveloper · · 2 min read

The short answer

At MyWebDeveloper, a small business website starts at £399 one-off, with hosting at £10/month extra. Multi-page websites start at £599 and online stores at £799. These are our package prices, not a UK market average; your final quote depends on the work agreed.

Start with what the website must do

A useful budget begins with your customers’ next step. A local gardener may need a service summary, photographs and a quote form. A business offering several distinct services may need separate pages to explain each one. A retailer also needs product information and a workable checkout. Count the jobs your website must perform before counting pages.

Our website design packages provide three starting points. Simple Business is a single-page website at £399. Multi-page Business includes five pages at £599. Online Store includes up to ten pages at £799. Bespoke functionality needs its own scope.

What will you pay after launch?

One-off packages require hosting at £10/month. At those advertised rates, twelve months of hosting adds £120: a Simple Business website plus twelve months of hosting is £519, before separately quoted extras. A domain, business email, premium software, copywriting or continuing updates may add costs depending on your brief. Ask for each item to be stated in writing, including any applicable tax treatment.

Monthly website packages are also available at £39.99, £54.99 and £74.99, with hosting included. Any minimum term, ownership and cancellation arrangements are confirmed in your quote. Read about hosting and business email before choosing.

Compare quotes on the same basis

Ask every supplier who supplies the words and photographs, how many revisions are included, whether forms and mobile layouts will be checked, and what happens when you need a change. Confirm access to the domain and website, backup arrangements and the process for moving provider. A short written scope makes different offers easier to compare.

Every package includes our AI-ready foundations, while ongoing SEO and website care can support further improvements. A finished website does not automatically bring traffic.

Prepare a brief that produces a useful quote

Send your business name, services, coverage area, preferred domain and examples of websites you like. Explain what is wrong with your current site, if you have one. For an online shop, include the number of products, delivery requirements and payment needs. Share your target launch date and budget if you know them.

Common questions

Can I start with a smaller website?

Yes. A focused single page can suit a business with a simple offer. Discuss future expansion before building so the initial structure supports it.

Does the price include guaranteed Google rankings?

No. Website development and search performance are different things. No package guarantees rankings, traffic or enquiries.
